DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM

Our preschool program provides a variety of different experiences that will help to prepare your child for Kindergarten.  Since we are a small day care home of 6 children, plus 3 before and after school children and there are two adult providers, your child will receive consistant individual attention throughout his / her daily activities.  Our program will introduce your child to many new concepts and activities at his / her correct age appropriate level, meaning when he / she is developmently ready for a particular concept.  We believe that learning should be fun so that it will be something that the children look forward to each day.  Therefore we plan out our program with many different stimulating learning activities to achieve our goal.  Some examples are, simple cooking activities, music, matching and sorting games, parachute play, arts & crafts, sensory play- (noodle bin & water play), dramatic play etc.

Our preschool program is designed for children ages 2 years - 5 years old. Each month your child will be introduced to two new themes, some examples are listed below:

September - "I'm Special" &  "Apples are Awesome

October - "Pumpkins, Pumpkins" & "Fire Safety"

November - "Animals Prepare for Winter" & "All About Turkeys"

The concepts and activities that we will be working on throughout each month will be incorporated into these themes. We will introduce your child to numbers - (counting & recognition) as well as shapes, colors, alphabet, opposites, simple patterning, small and large motor development,  etc. 

 Each day we will have circle time where we will read a story, sing songs that will help your child to become aware of the changes in the weather, introduce him / her to the days of the week and we will take attendance using our attendance poem.  After circle time we will play a few games that will reinforce the concepts we are working on that month and then we will do a small art project 3 - 4 days out of the week.
